Dodgen Middle School students have excelled in the State MATHCOUNTS competition, achieving significant success under the guidance of lead coach David Gabel. The school advanced from the chapter competition held in February with six students earning the opportunity to participate at the state level.

Max Lin, a sixth grader, stood out by securing the top position as the leading individual competitor in Georgia. Lin demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and a solid grasp of complex math concepts. His dedication earned him first place and a spot in the National MATHCOUNTS competition in Washington, DC, this May.

The Dodgen MATHCOUNTS team, comprising Max Lin, Benny Le, Aidan Park, and Adrija Chakraborty, performed well in both individual and team rounds. Timothy Guo and Matt Lu also qualified for the state competition as individuals. The team's collective effort was rewarded with a second-place finish in the team round. This accomplishment highlighted their teamwork and strategic preparation.

Principal Dr. Patricia Alford conveyed her pride, saying, "We are incredibly proud of our MATHCOUNTS competitors."

Dodgen Middle School is set to continue its legacy of excellence in mathematics, powered by the successes of its students. The team's achievements reinforce the value of determination and collaboration. The school looks forward to upcoming competitions and the progress of its talented math students.
