A Cobb County high school teacher is now behind bars after being accused of developing a sexual relationship with a student and having sex with her on the school premises, according to WSB-TV.

“The safety and wellbeing of our students continues to be the most important thing to me as your principal, Osborne High School Principal Joshua Morreale said in a letter on the school website. "We are cooperating fully with the Cobb County police, are conducting a thorough internal investigation, and have no reason to believe these allegations threaten any other Osborne students. Effective immediately, the teacher will not be allowed on campus as the investigation continues.”

Zachary White, teacher and basketball coach at Osborne High School, was arrested by Cobb County Police after being accused of having sex with one of his 17-year-old students, WSB-TV reported.

White is in jail and will have to wait to face a superior court judge to ask for a bond, WSB-TV reported.

According to the warrant, incidents occurred between Oct. 4 and Oct. 25, Fox 5 reported.

White is the second teacher in the county who has been arrested on the grounds of inappropriate action with students. According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, on Nov. 3, a teacher from The Walker School was arrested and charged with furnishing obscene materials and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Both these charges are misdemeanors.
