LOVETT SCHOOL: Carrano and Sherman Earn Major Awards and Three Lions Named DiVaristy All-Stars

Lovett School issued the following announcement on May 13. 

Nick Carrano ’23 and Head Coach Tyler Sherman garnered 2A Player and 2A Coach of the Year honors from DiVarsity announced this past week. 

Carrano, a junior attacking midfielder, completed his best season of his HS career so far by finishing the season with 79 points on 30 goals and 19 assists. Carrano was a main staple in a prolific Lion’s offense that averaged 4.6 goals per match.  

Sherman, in his second year at the helm for the Varsity Boys team, helped lead Lovett to an 18-3-1 overall record (8-0 in region play) and back-to-back State Championship appearances.

Marco Brok ’23, Prescott Bayman ’23 and Carrano were also named All-Stars. 

Brok, a junior goalkeeper, led a strong Lovett defense and stunted a goals against average of .114. Brok also surpassed 100 career saves this season as well. 

Bayman, a junior center back, commanded the back line for Lions which only gave up .41 goals per game.

Lions will be in action on May 15 at Sprayberry High School at 6:45 PM for the 23rd DiVarsity Georgia High School Soccer All-Star game.
