AAHOA has invested heavily in expanding advocacy efforts and strengthening the relationships with state and local association members. We launched the American Hospitality Alliance, a collaborative effort with the American Hotel and Lodging Association, the International Society of Hotel Associations, and over 40 leading state associations. We want to do everything possible to ensure AAHOA Members have a more powerful voice at all levels of government, and we create the most favorable environment possible for hotel businesses to succeed. That’s why we are pleased to share a major victory for our industry in Georgia. The Georgia legislature recently passed and Governor Brian Kemp signed SB 331, the “Protecting Georgia Businesses and Workers Act.” This legislation will ensure private employee work hours, scheduling, and output are only regulated at the state or federal level. This win will protect AAHOA Members in Georgia from onerous labor mandates that hurt small businesses and undermine pandemic recovery.
AAHOA thanks American Hotel and Lodging Association, the Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association, the National Federation of Independent Business, the Georgia Restaurant Association, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce for supporting this law and protecting hoteliers in Georgia.
