Innovative Fitness Announces 2022 Chris Conti Memorial Grant Recipient

Innovative Fitness awarded the 3rd annual Chris Conti Memorial Grant to the Floyd County Police Department. This year’s grant opened on March 15th to all nonprofits, public safety organizations, and city and county Parks and Recreation Association member agencies in the state of Georgia.

Floyd County Police Department (FCPD) employs anywhere between 85-90 sworn officers, three K9 officers, as well as 6 civilian employees. The new fitness center will be housed in their current dedicated fitness space which is presently comprised of donated equipment dating as far back as the 1980’s. This space is also shared with the City of Rome Police Department. Sergeant William Wacker wrote in the grant application that “because of the unsafe conditions of the gym area, the officers have outsourced to corporate gyms”, which officers pay for out of pocket.

President and CFO, Melissa Conti, said about the grant, “For us, fitness and philanthropy go hand in hand. Through the CCMG, we can give back to our community while doing one of the things we do best, design and outfit fitness spaces”.

Innovative Fitness inaugurated the Chris Conti Memorial Grant (CCMG) in 2020 to honor the memory and legacy of their co-founder who was known for his generosity and desire to give back to others and his community. The creation of the CCMG perfectly aligns with the company’s motto, “See a need, fill a need” and mission statement “Uniting fitness and philanthropy to create and inspire healthier communities”. Chris’ legacy of giving will be carried on through the annual CCMG. Founded in 2000, Innovative Fitness is a national supplier of fitness equipment and athletic flooring and provides a full range of services to their clients in both commercial and residential settings. The company strives to identify each client’s specific needs and goals in order to provide custom solutions that result in a one-of-a-kind fitness space.
