Census Bureau: 6.1% of people in Cobb County identified as multiracial in 2021

Of the 762,500 citizens living in Cobb County in 2021, 93.9% said they were only one race, while 6.1% said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in June.

The most prevalent racial group among citizens in Cobb County who reported being of a single race in 2021 was white, comprising 55% or 419,267 individuals. Following them, African American accounted for 27.5% and totaled 209,620 individuals.

The percentage of multiracial residents in Cobb County is 1.3% higher than the state average, which stands at 4.8%.
