Melanie Kagan, the current board president for GMDT, expressed pride in Hughes's appointment, stating, "This milestone marks a significant moment in our journey, reflecting our commitment to elevating the arts in Marietta and beyond."
With over 20 years of experience in the dance industry, Hughes is poised to lead GMDT towards further growth and presence in the arts community. She brings a wealth of expertise from her previous roles at the Birmingham Ballet and the Gadsden Community School for the Arts.
Reflecting on her new position, Hughes shared, "I strongly believe in the mission of GMDT and look forward to furthering our vision of helping young dancers become the next generation of artists and leaders."
Under Hughes's leadership, GMDT aims to continue enriching the community through the power of dance and nurturing talent. The company's board of directors is excited about the opportunities to expand their impact and solidify their position as a leader in the arts community.
