The popular public arts festival, M2R TrailFest, is set to return on May 11th along Marietta’s Mountain to River Trail. The event promises a vibrant celebration of arts and culture for people of all ages. According to the Cobb Chamber of Commerce, the festival will feature a variety of art installations, performances, and live music that can only be enjoyed during the event.
One of the highlights of the festival is the Fur Folly Pet Parade, now in its second year, where pets and their owners are encouraged to dress up in costume and join the colorful procession along the M2R trail. The parade will travel from Lewis Park Dog Park to Atherton Square in historic downtown Marietta, covering approximately one mile.
The official Opening Ceremonies of the M2R TrailFest will take place at 12pm in Atherton Square, the central point of the festival. Attendees can look forward to performances by dancers, aerialists, and musicians at various locations along the trail, including Atherton Square and Alley Stage on Anderson Street.
It is worth noting that the 2024 M2R TrailFest is proudly presented by SA White Oil, with sponsorship opportunities still available for interested parties. The funds raised from sponsorships are crucial for the production of the festival and to support the Marietta Art Council in its mission to enrich the artistic and cultural landscape of the City of Marietta through advocacy, education, and public art.
For those interested in attending the M2R TrailFest, the event is free to attend and open to all. Festival-goers can explore the trail, enjoy the various art installations, vibrant murals, and the iconic lucite bridge installations that have become a tradition since 2020.
