54 coaches at institutions in Cobb County earned $57,997 on average in 2022

Cobb County’s 54 coaches earned an average salary of $57,997 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the 10th highest average salary per county earned by coaches at Georgia post-secondary schools during 2022.

Cobb County is home to two post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Kennesaw State University stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $96,782.

Male coaches of men's teams received $77,290 on average in Cobb County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $60,444.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
