2024 MLB Draft concludes: Notable picks for each team

The 2024 MLB Draft concluded on Tuesday, with 615 players selected over a 20-round process. The draft, presented by Nike, provided teams with opportunities to add potential superstars and uncover hidden gems.

Among the notable picks:

**Blue Jays:** Trey Yesavage, RHP (first round). Ranked 11th overall by MLB Pipeline, Yesavage fell to the Blue Jays at the 20th pick. The East Carolina product has a high release and three plus pitches in his fastball, slider, and splitter.

**Orioles:** Vance Honeycutt, OF (first round). Despite a high strikeout rate of 27.5%, Honeycutt's tools are impressive. He set North Carolina records for homers in a season (28) and career (65).

**Rays:** Tyler Bell, SS (Round CB-B). Coming from Illinois, Bell is considered one of the best high-school shortstops in this class due to his defensive capabilities.

**Red Sox:** Braden Montgomery, OF (first round). The Red Sox secured Montgomery at No. 12. He fits the right-field profile with significant raw power and arm strength.

**Yankees:** Bryce Cunningham, RHP (second round). Analysts commend Cunningham's fastball shape and changeup action. He posted a 4.36 ERA with Vanderbilt this spring.

**Guardians:** Joey Oakie, RHP (third round). Gatorade's Iowa high school player of the year features an effective slider and two-seamer that touches 97 mph.

**Royals:** Jac Caglianone, 1B/LHP (first round). Selected sixth overall by Kansas City as a two-way player; he may eventually focus on hitting full-time.

**Tigers:** Bryce Rainer, SS (first round). Detroit added Rainer to their prospects pool. His consistent loud contact and good approach could make him a plus hitter with above-average power.

**Twins:** Billy Amick, 3B (second round). After transferring to Tennessee from Clemson, Amick helped win the College World Series and posted an OPS of 1.026.

**White Sox:** Hagen Smith, LHP (first round). Armed with a deceptive fastball reaching up to 100 mph and an effective slider from Arkansas.
