The Braves' rotation experienced a setback on Sunday as All-Star left-hander Max Fried was placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to Thursday, due to left forearm neuritis. The team recalled left-hander Dylan Dodd in a corresponding move.

Fried, who pitched a scoreless inning for the National League team in the All-Star Game, has compiled a 7-5 record with a 3.08 ERA over 108 innings this season, including 95 strikeouts and 34 walks. In his most recent start, he limited the Diamondbacks to one run over six innings but took the loss in a 1-0 defeat.

Fried will become a free agent following the 2024 season. Over his career with Atlanta, he holds a 69-31 record with a 3.04 ERA across 157 games (140 starts).
