National architecture and engineering firm CROFT & Associates (CROFT), headquartered in Kennesaw, has announced its merger with Pike – McFarland – Hall Associates (PMH), an architectural firm based in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with a 27-year history of notable projects.
The newly formed entity will provide comprehensive architectural and engineering services under one roof while maintaining the high standards and client relationships that have distinguished both organizations.
This year marks CROFT’s 20th anniversary, and the merger with PMH serves as a significant milestone. Over its two decades, CROFT has grown in service offerings, clients, geography, staff size, and revenue. The firm's projects now extend across 42 states, the British Virgin Islands, and abroad. In the past five years alone, CROFT has tripled its revenue and expanded into four new markets: Denver (2021), Charlotte (2022), Savannah (2023), and now Myrtle Beach through the merger with PMH.
“Welcoming PMH into the CROFT family is an exciting step forward for our company and people,” said Jim Croft, founder and CEO of CROFT. “Their talented team and successful track record align perfectly with our culture and our commitment to excellence. Together, we will provide unparalleled architectural and engineering services to our clients.”
PMH's decision to merge followed an extensive exploratory phase of other firms across the country. Joe Pike, PMH founding partner and president stated: “For months, Pike – McFarland – Hall Associates had been exploring collaborations to enhance our services and strengthen our capacity. When we were finally introduced to CROFT...we knew pretty quickly they were the right partner for us.”
Pike described the merger as an "evolution" rather than a departure from their established practices. While PMH's team remains unchanged, it now benefits from additional resources and in-house engineering expertise provided by CROFT.
The partnership allows CROFT to expand its reach into South Carolina while enhancing its service offerings in sectors such as K-12 education, higher education, and local government. Both companies emphasize a shared commitment to clients and community values.
“Our aligned values...are truly what set this opportunity apart,” said Jim Croft. He expressed enthusiasm about the potential impact on their respective communities resulting from this partnership.
As part of the merger strategy developed jointly by both firms, PMH will become known as PMH | CROFT.
