The Georgia Symphony Orchestra is set to commence its 74th season by marking the centennial of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. This special event will be held on October 12, 2024, at the Dr. Bobbie Bailey and Family Performance Center in Kennesaw, GA, with pianist Robert Henry as a featured performer.

Under the baton of GSO Music Director and Conductor Timothy Verville, the orchestra will be joined by over 100 members of the GSO Chorus. The performance will include a medley of songs from the 1920s and original versions of popular pieces from that era.

Attendees are invited to enjoy a one-hour journey through music history, experiencing early blends of American popular and classical music. In keeping with the theme, patrons are encouraged to dress in Roaring 20s attire.

Tickets for this event range from $15 to $45 and can be purchased through georgiasymphony.org/all-events.

Timothy Verville leads this opening performance as part of the orchestra's new season.
