The Georgia Symphony Orchestra (GSO) is set to open its 74th season with a special event marking the centennial of George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue." This celebration will feature pianist Robert Henry and will be held on October 12, 2024, at the Dr. Bobbie Bailey and Family Performance Center in Kennesaw, Georgia.

GSO Music Director and Conductor Timothy Verville will lead the orchestra along with over 100 members of the GSO Chorus. The program includes a medley of songs from the 1920s, original versions of popular pieces, and other selections from this transformative era in music history. The concert offers attendees a one-hour journey back to the early days of American popular and classical music fusion. Attendees are encouraged to dress in Roaring '20s attire for the occasion.

Tickets for this one-night-only event range from $15 to $45 and can be purchased through georgiasymphony.org/all-events.
