The Center for Family Resources (CFR) has announced its annual gala event, "A Night in Rio," scheduled for May 10, 2025, at the Cobb Galleria Center. The event aims to prevent homelessness among children and families in Cobb County by bringing the community together.
The gala is co-chaired by Eddie Wade, Chief Operating Officer of Croy Engineering, and Sasha Ugi, Vice President of the same company. They aim to offer attendees a vibrant experience inspired by Rio de Janeiro while highlighting CFR's mission to provide essential services to local families.
"We are honored to support and assist an organization that is making a difference in the lives of children and families in Cobb County," said Wade and Ugi. They emphasized CFR's role in changing lives through housing assistance and food security programs like The Family Cupboard choice pantry.
Melanie Kagan, CEO of CFR, expressed gratitude for the support from Wade and Ugi. "With their dedication and the enchanting theme of Rio, we’re confident we will exceed our goals this year," she stated.
Proceeds from the gala will fund CFR's programs such as emergency financial assistance, housing solutions, and employment resources. Those interested in sponsorships can contact christalmcnair@thecfr.org. Additionally, there will be an online silent auction with unique items available for bidding.
CFR has been supporting families in crisis for over 60 years through various programs aimed at achieving stable lives. More information about their work can be found on their website TheCFR.org.
