Simpson Middle School is preparing to celebrate National School Psychology Week and World Kindness Day with a Random Act of Kindness Day on Wednesday, November 13th. The event is sponsored by the school's PTSA. On this day, staff members will distribute "I performed a Random Act of Kindness" slips to students observed engaging in acts of kindness.

Students who receive these slips will write their names on them and place them in grade-level boxes located in the media center. From each grade, four names will be drawn. The selected students will be rewarded with a donut or bagel during Fresh Air Friday, also known as Eagle Time, on Friday, November 15th.

The initiative encourages kindness beyond school boundaries. Families are provided with resources such as the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation's Kindness at Home program, which offers weekly lessons via email. Additionally, The Great Kindness Challenge: Family Edition provides videos, information, and a free checklist to promote kindness activities.

Another resource includes "20 Simple Kindness Activities for Children to Do," offering straightforward ideas for encouraging children to perform kind acts.
