The Cobb Chamber's East Cobb Area Council has announced Butch Carter, owner of Honest-1 Auto Care, as the 2024 East Cobb Citizen of the Year. The award recognizes individuals whose significant contributions have positively impacted their community and serve as role models. These awards are based on local area nominations.

The award was presented at a breakfast held by the East Cobb Area Council at Indian Hills Country Club.

Butch Carter founded Honest-1 Auto Care over a decade ago in East Cobb. He is noted for his commitment to providing excellent service and fostering a positive work environment. As the current president of the East Cobb Rotary Club, Carter has overseen the distribution of more than $100,000 to local charities during the 2023-2024 Rotary year. This includes $30,000 allocated to Lunches for Learning, which supports children in Honduras with food provisions.

Carter's volunteer activities extend to organizations such as MUST Ministries, McCleskey-East Cobb YMCA, and the East Cobb Business Association. His achievements with this association include supporting public safety celebrations and receiving its Business Person of the Year award. Additionally, he served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force after studying at North Carolina State University on an Air Force ROTC scholarship.
