The Cobb County School District has achieved high scores on the Georgia Department of Education's College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI), outperforming other districts across the state. The district surpassed Georgia’s scores in 12 out of 13 measurements and matched in the remaining one.
Board member David Chastain commented, “Across every subject and grade level, Cobb students are achieving remarkable gains because our teachers can focus on what truly matters—teaching. The success happening daily in Cobb classrooms is a direct result of our community’s investment and will continue to pay off for years to come.”
In Content Mastery, Cobb County exceeded state averages by significant margins at all school levels: elementary schools by 9.2 points, middle schools by 11.9 points, and high schools by 15.1 points. Year-over-year improvements were also noted with elementary and middle schools gaining 3.8 points each, while high schools improved by 4.0 points.
Progress measures indicated strong growth across the district with elementary schools scoring 3.9 points above the state average, middle schools at 3.1 points above, and high schools at 8.7 points above. Progress improvements over the year included gains of 4.0 points in elementary schools, 1.1 points in middle schools, and 1.6 points in high schools.
Cobb students also excelled in Beyond the Core indicators with near-perfect scores; elementary schools scored 99.7 while middle schools achieved a score of 99.5.
High school graduation rates showed positive trends as well; the four-year rate increased by 0.4 points while the five-year cohort graduation rate rose to 90.5%, marking a gain of 2.8 points from the previous year.
Readiness scores reflected improvement across all school levels: elementary gained by +0.9 points, middle by +0.8 points, and high school readiness increased by +1.6 points.
The report card results align with earlier recognition from the Georgia Department of Education that identified Cobb as a leader in math and literacy among its peers statewide.
