A new leader has taken the helm at Hendricks Elementary School. Tangela Hendrix, a seasoned educator with 25 years of experience, is now the principal of the school. She plans to continue providing rich learning opportunities and maintaining strong community connections.
“I am grateful to continue to be a part of this extraordinary school community," said Principal Hendrix. "Serving as the assistant principal for the last year has allowed me to collaborate with the Hendricks community to provide a student-centered learning environment."
Hendrix began her career in Cobb as a Special Education EBD teacher at Riverside Elementary School. Her leadership experience also includes positions at Clarkdale Elementary School and Dowell Elementary School.
Principal Hendrix shared her views on student success: “Student success means all students receive instruction that allows them to achieve academic goals while engaging in meaningful learning experiences."
Discussing her plans for Hendricks' future, she stated, “As the school's leader, I will build relationships and provide students with opportunities to show their gifts and talents."
She emphasized the importance of parent and community involvement: “I see a strong home and school connection between our parents and the team at Hendricks."
Reflecting on her career, Hendrix shared, “My favorite memory as an educator involves attending the graduation of students I’ve taught."
Outside of school, Hendrix enjoys spending time with her family. "You will find me with my family," she noted.
