High school students often face anxiety when it comes to the ACT and SAT exams, which have long been key factors in college admissions. Although their importance is evolving, students aiming for higher education still need to consider these challenging tests.

In a recent episode of "The Inside Scoop," host David Owen discussed these exams with Patty DaSilva, Cobb's Counseling Consultant for middle and high schools. Ms. DaSilva shared her insights into the purpose and preparation for these assessments.

"The best way to improve an ACT or SAT score is by taking the test multiple times," DaSilva advised. While acknowledging that test preparation can familiarize students with the exam format, she noted that it has limited impact on improving scores significantly. The tests are designed to evaluate knowledge acquired during middle and high school years.

Despite the stress associated with these exams, understanding their structure and purpose can help students approach them more effectively.
