Forbes has once again acknowledged the Cobb County School District (CCSD) as one of America's best large employers. This recognition adds to the district's reputation, having been named one of Georgia’s Best Employers for six consecutive years.
Cobb Schools ranks above several major national employers, including The Walt Disney Company, Comcast, PepsiCo, Amazon, the State of Tennessee, and MetLife. Within Georgia, it surpasses notable companies such as Chick-fil-A, Cox Enterprises, Georgia-Pacific, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and United Parcel Service (UPS).
The district is among only two school districts in Georgia to make Forbes' list and is one of five nationwide. This recognition underscores Cobb’s dedication to its educators, staff, and students.
While many educational systems face challenges with teacher recruitment and retention, Cobb Schools maintains a committed team of educators who return annually. This reflects the district's ongoing investment in its employees.
A significant factor in retaining top educators is Cobb’s innovative program called Georgia’s BEST (Building Educator Success Together). Developed in collaboration with the University of West Georgia, this initiative allows educators to pursue advanced degrees without tuition costs. As of February 2024, Georgia’s BEST marked its first anniversary and continues to attract new participants eager to advance their careers.
On March 22, 2025, Cobb Schools will host a job fair at 755 Battery Ave SE in Atlanta. The event offers an opportunity for prospective employees to connect with district representatives and learn about available roles within the respected school district recognized by Forbes for workplace excellence.
