Dodgen Chamber Orchestra places third in National Orchestra Festival

Dodgen Middle School's Chamber Orchestra, consisting of 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students, recently participated in the National Orchestra Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. The event, held on March 21, 2025, featured top ensembles from across the country in a competitive performance setting.

The Dodgen Chamber Orchestra achieved a significant milestone by placing third among middle school groups at the festival. This included competition with magnet schools for the arts. The event was by invitation only, showcasing some of the most talented young musicians in the country.

Ashley Culley and Evelyn Champion, directors of the Dodgen Orchestra program, were lauded for their dedication and the many hours spent in rehearsal with their students. A statement from the program expressed pride in their students and the accomplishments of the orchestra.

"We are so proud of our students and their directors, Ashley Culley and Evelyn Champion for the many hours of rehearsal and effort given to provide this incredible opportunity to our kids," the statement said. "We are so proud of our orchestra program!"
