The U.S. Chamber of Commerce has awarded the Cobb Chamber a prestigious 5-Star Accreditation, placing it among an elite group of less than 2 percent of chambers nationwide to receive this top honor. This recognition highlights the chamber's sound policies, effective procedures, and positive impact on the community.
Raymond P. Towle, Vice President of Federation Relations and Coalition Partnerships at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of chambers in their communities: "Chambers of commerce nationwide play a vital role in their communities every day. From connecting business owners with needed resources to advocating on behalf of their region with lawmakers, these chambers convene thought leaders to strengthen the collective voices of their members."
The accreditation process is rigorous, requiring chambers to meet standards in governance, government affairs, communications, and technology. This comprehensive self-review can take between six to nine months to complete.
Sharon Mason, President and CEO of the Cobb Chamber, expressed pride in receiving this accolade: “This 5-star recognition is a remarkable achievement and significant recognition of the tremendous community impact by our chamber team, board, volunteers, programs, and much more.”
The U.S. Chamber’s Accreditation Program is designed to promote excellence within the chamber industry while fostering a pro-business environment across America. The final determination for accreditation levels—ranging from Accredited up to 5-Stars—is made by an Accrediting Board composed of U.S. Chamber board members.
