Spencer Schwellenbach leads Braves past Phillies with strong pitching performance
ATLANTA -- Spencer Schwellenbach's seventh career MLB start was a quality one on Saturday against the Phillies. Schwellenbach went six innings, allowed one run on seven hits, and struck out six without issuing a walk as the Braves evened the series with a 5-1 win over Philadelphia at Truist Park.

Turner's home runs sink Braves' hopes against Phillies
ATLANTA -- Max Fried has earned the right to be pushed a little longer than the average pitcher. But after the Braves' veteran labored through the first five innings of an 8-6 loss to the Phillies on Friday night at Truist Park, there was reason to question why he was allowed to face Phillies shortstop Trea Turner a fourth time.

Braves urged to prioritize pitcher endurance over division title chase
Whenever you ask a manager if the upcoming series is significant, you'll usually hear something generic like: “Every game is a big one.” Bobby Cox used to say: “They all count the same.” Earlier this week, Brian Snitker said one of the reasons Reynaldo López is getting the ball on regular rest on Sunday is to get him a start during this weekend’s Phillies series.

Southpaws dominate latest MLB starting pitcher power rankings
The southpaw is surging across MLB. Last season, there was a lull for left-handers, with only one (the Cubs’ Justin Steele) finishing among the top 10 in FanGraphs’ version of pitcher WAR. While then-Padres lefty Blake Snell did take NL Cy Young honors, only two of his compatriots were also among the 20 AL or NL pitchers to receive votes for the award (Framber Valdez was ninth in the AL; Steele was fifth in the NL).

Braves rely on Reynaldo Lopez despite recent struggles
ATLANTA -- Reynaldo López is unlikely to win an ERA title, even if he doesn't allow another earned run for the rest of the season. Despite his impressive 1.83 ERA over 15 starts, an All-Star bid isn't guaranteed. However, López could be a postseason asset if the Braves manage his workload effectively through the remainder of his first full season as a starter since 2019.

Although no prep arms are projected to be selected at the very top of this year's Draft, there is notable depth in this group. The likelihood of these young athletes being chosen in the first round remains uncertain as teams often avoid early risks but may target high-ceiling arms later. Each of the ten pitchers listed below has a strong chance to be picked within the first two or three rounds and could receive substantial bonuses that might lead...
