Cobb Schools' Athlete of the Week program, supported by BSN Sports, recognizes outstanding male and female student-athletes each week for their achievements in sports, academics, and community involvement. This week's honorees are Isaac Hoshide from Lassiter High School and Exxence Hubbard from McEachern High School.

Isaac Hoshide, a wrestler for Lassiter Trojans, has overcome significant challenges during his high school career. After sustaining a broken collarbone as a freshman, he underwent multiple surgeries but continued to excel in wrestling. He is a two-time Cobb County Champion and last year's 6A 113-lb state champion. As he starts his senior season, Isaac celebrates his 100th career win. Coach Matt Brickley praised Isaac's contributions: "Isaac has been a tremendous asset to Lassiter Wrestling." Despite injuries leading to shoulder instability and dislocations during his junior year, Isaac won both the Cobb County Championship and the state title.

Coach Brickley highlighted Isaac's leadership qualities: "The impact and mentorship that he's left on the program and the other wrestlers will never be forgotten." In addition to athletic accomplishments, Isaac excels academically with a GPA of 4.625 and an SAT score of 1520.

Exxence Hubbard represents McEachern's basketball team with determination on the court despite not having significant height advantage over her peers. She recently recorded impressive stats including points, rebounds, assists, steals, deflections, and blocks in one game. Head Coach Phyllis Arthur described Exxence as "the glue that holds the team together," citing her influence on younger teammates.

Coach Arthur noted Exxence’s positive attitude: "She is always positive and always displays good sportsmanship." Beyond athletics, Exxence is active in FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and volunteers at local food banks.

Both athletes exemplify dedication in their respective fields while maintaining strong academic records. Their coaches expressed pride in their accomplishments both on and off the field.
