As National School Counseling Appreciation Week approaches, King Springs Elementary School is set to honor its dedicated school counselors from February 3-7, 2025. This year's theme, "School Counseling: Helping Students Thrive," highlights the essential role these professionals play in students' lives.

The school's counseling team consists of India Adams, Dawn Haskett, and Jessie Kelley. India Adams supports kindergarten and first-grade students, Dawn Haskett works with second and third graders, while Jessie Kelley assists multi-grade levels including fourth and fifth grades. Their mission is to equip students with skills necessary for productive citizenship in the 21st century and inspire them towards kindness and compassion.

King Springs Elementary's counselors provide a range of services that are proactive, comprehensive, and data-driven. They offer individual counseling for specific concerns, lead small groups for common issues, and conduct classroom lessons on social-emotional learning, growth mindset, and bullying prevention. Their efforts ensure that every student feels supported and empowered to succeed.

During National School Counseling Week, the King Springs community is encouraged to express gratitude to their counselors through thank-you notes or participating in a photo challenge with daily themes shared on social media using #NSCW25. Sharing personal stories about the impact of counselors is also suggested as a way to acknowledge their contributions.

The week serves as a reminder of the critical support provided by school counselors in fostering an environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The commitment of India Adams, Dawn Haskett, and Jessie Kelley significantly enhances the educational experience at King Springs Elementary School.
