The Barber School emerged victorious in the Kennesaw Parks & Recreation's Black History Bowl, taking first place among eight finalist teams. The event initially started with 17 schools competing. This year, Barber entered the championship series ranked number one, a first in their four years of participation.

After more than three months of intensive preparation involving over 500 facts and thirteen games across three Saturdays, the Barber team secured their victory. Team members Esteban, Maureen, Kiva, Catherine, AJ, Anise, and Noah were congratulated for their achievement.

Coaches Spencer and Fowler, along with intern Rodriguez and Junior Coach Moore, played a crucial role in preparing the team. "As a proud HBCU graduate and lover of history," said Ms. Spencer, "participating in this event every year is truly something I look forward to and am grateful for."

She emphasized the educational value of the competition: "This event provides an opportunity for ALL students to learn information they wouldn't otherwise get until they went to college and chose to take certain classes." Ms. Spencer also shared this year's motto: "Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships."

Team member Kiva reflected on her experience: "The Black History Bowl has impacted my life. I have learned so much about historical black figures and the amazing things they have accomplished." She highlighted Harriet Tubman's courage as a source of inspiration: "Studying these facts taught me that you can be and do anything you want."

In celebration of their achievement, songs were created in honor of the team titled "Champions of the Bowl."
